9-5 to Day Party

9-5 to Day Party

It's the last day of summer so I wanted to give you guys one last sunny look before we are officially ushered into fall tomorrow.

The main piece today is this denim shirt which I borrowed from my sister. Click the video below to listen to the atrocities that the shirt endured before I rescued it lol. Upon rescuing it (for the day) I decided to style it for a day party which was so much fun! My traditional style is more on the feminine side so I wanted to add some touches to this *whispers* (originally from the men's department) shirt. Seriously, just watch the video to hear the real story behind the shirt. I can't forget to thank James O Olaleye for bearing with me as we filmed and took photos. Check out his work and reach out if you need some nice photos.

Thank you for reading.☺️

For my 9-5 look I wanted to keep things simple. I decided to add this skirt that I got from lulus a while back, in college. The belt is Forever21. (Have I already mentioned how good and inexpensive their accessories are?). Honestly, I think I purchased this for about $7 at the time.

The shoes are Aldo, and I was so happy when I got these because it can be quite hard to find an appropriate nude shoe that compliments a darker skin tone. I used to have my perfect nude shoes but I had to get rid of them because of wear and tear, but these Aldo ones are a great replacement find.

The bag is a borrowed piece from my sister as well (what are sisters for if not for borrowing amazing pieces). It's a Dooney&Bourke piece which automatically adds a luxurious feel to any look.

The second way I styled this look was to a Day Party. Summer is really Day Party season in D.C. There are so many nice rooftop places to go to. I added this TopShop belt, which was one of my favorite end of summer sales finds. It is sold out now but Asos has a somewhat similar one.

I put shorts underneath mainly as a security blanket in case the wind were to blow. These shorts are from Urban Outfitters (P.S. they do really nice denim shorts.)

The SHOES, THE SHOES, THE SHOES. You've seen these shoes already in my post here so I won't rave about it anymore than I already have. Now, is it really a "9-5 to Happy Hour" post without a piece from Zara? The bag is a gem I got from Ebay ages ago which I also showed you here.
