2019 Travel wish list

Hi Babes,

We’re almost at the end of the first month of the year so I figured I have one last opportunity to do an overarching 2019 kind of post. One of the biggest lifestyle changes I am making this year is planning. I am planning around blog content, I am planning around finances, I am planning around relationships. This is definitely my year of preparedness, so in that vein, here is a list of the places I plan to travel to this year. Side note, I am a very superstitious African, so I am feeling quite apprehensive about sharing these plans. But, village witches will not win so here goes my list of 4 places I plan to travel to this year

  1. New York City, New York: One day I will write an ode New York City, but for now I will say this. New York is now, and will forever be a place that brings me inspiration. Every time I visit I get that surge of “anything is possible” feeling in my stomach and I plan on visiting again to to keep that sense of hopefulness going.

  2. Honolulu, Hawaii: On a whim last year, after burning myself out at my 9-5 and realizing that I hadn’t taken any sort of vacation in 4 years, I decided that I needed to visit a calm and relaxing place with a vibrant culture. Honolulu, Hawaii, that tropical paradise of a place fit the bill. Circumstances didn’t pan out for me to visit last year but this year is the year for a Hawaii visit.

  3. London, U.K.: Tied with New York for the spot as my favorite city in the world is this city. I even wrote London a pseudo love letter here. Followers on Instagram have been bombarded with a slew of #takemeback posts featuring photographs from my 2 day stay in this city. Needless to say, London is a place I plan on visiting at least once a year. The love is clearly very deep.

  4. Havana, Cuba: Buena Vista Social Club! Culture, culture, culture. This is my number 1 reason for planning a trip to Havana. I read “Next Year in Havana” last year and became even more enamored with Cuba. I absolutely have to see it for myself.

Bonus:

Peru: One of my friends has invited me on a trip to Peru and I cannot say no to a chance to celebrate her birthday, nor a chance to see Cusco!

New Orleans: Food, Vampire Diaries, and The Originals. Need I say more?

Mallorca, Spain: Because who doesn’t want to lay on the beaches of a beautiful Island.

Let me know what places you plan on visiting this year. Thanks for reading and I’ll see you next time.
